ANNAPOLIS, MD — Earth Day is on Thursday, April 22. Maryland is gearing up with plenty of distanced and virtual events.
"The pandemic has reminded Marylanders how valuable our green spaces are," the Maryland League of Conservation Voters said in a press release. "We are [fortunate] to live in a state with such extraordinary natural resources, from the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries to the mountains of Western Maryland."
The League of Conservation Voters suggested that Marylanders:

- Research organizations that support the environment
- Check your representative's environmental voting record
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation also has some events planned this weekend. Locals can:

- Clean oyster shells in Shady Side on Friday
- Plant trees in Frederick County on Saturday
