Annapolis Builder's Green Show Home Is for Sale
The house by Baldwin Homes is located in Gambrills and listed for $1.275 million.

The Maryland Green Designer Show Home, built by Annapolis-based Baldwin Homes, is now up for sale after tours of the house in Gambrills raised more than $22,000 for local charities.Â
Annapolis-based Purple Cherry Architects designed the bones of the house, but its interior spaces will be designed by 23 separate design firms chosen from around the metro area.
After spending months as a showcase for new energy-efficient design, the 7,000-square-foot home is listed at $1.275 million. Proceeds from any sale will go to support Hospice of the Chesapeake and the Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic.Â

The house was designed and fitted with environmental consciousness in mind. "Green" elements included a special roof design, high-grade insulation and specially designed ductwork. The project was recently named 2013 Green Single Family Custom Project of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
The developer sold tickets for tours of the home between October and December of last year. The tours also served as a showcase for a number of local interior designers, who donated their time and items to decorate the home.Â
