An Annapolis minor accidentally shot himself in the leg, police said. Officers expect him to survive, but they are still investigating.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis minor accidentally shot himself in the leg, police announced Saturday. Officers expect him to survive, but they are still investigating the incident.

A news release explained that the accident happened near Bens Drive. Police noted that they responded to an unnamed hospital around 3:08 a.m. Saturday when they heard word of the shooting.

Officers did not mention who owns the gun, how the victim got access to it nor how old the minor is.

Authorities offered a cash reward of up to $2,000 for details that lead to an arrest or an indictment.
