Anne Arundel School Calendar 2018-19: First Day, Vacations

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The first day of school for some Anne Arundel County students is Sept. 4 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. Anne Arundel County Public Schools has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

The district has a staggered start with schools open for grades 1-5 and grades 6 and 9 on Tuesday, Sept. 4. On Sept. 5, all schools are open for students in grades 1-12.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/4: First Day of School for Grades 1–5, 6 and 9 Only
• 9/5: First Day of School for Grades 1-12
• 9/6, 9/7, 9/10: Staggered Entrance for Kindergarten and Full-Day Pre-K Students
• 9/7: First Day of School for ECI Students
• 9/7, 9/10, 9/11: Staggered Entrance for Half-Day Pre-K Students
• 9/10: Rosh Hashanah (Schools And Central Offices Open)
• 9/11: First Day of School for all Kindergarten and Full-Day Pre-K Students
• 9/12: First Day of School for all Half-Day Pre-K Students
• 9/19: No School (Yom Kippur)

October

• 10/17: Two-Hour Early Dismissal/Professional Development (Schools Closed for Evening Pre-K and ECI)
• 10/23: No School (Conferences for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools)

November

• 11/6: No School (General Elections)
• 11/8-11/9: Two-Hour Early Dismissal (Schools Closed for Evening Pre-K and ECI)
• 11/21–11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/6: Two-Hour Early Dismissal/Professional Development (Schools Closed for Evening Pre-K and ECI)
• 24–1/1: Schools Closed (Holiday Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Break)
• 1/2: Classes Resume
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/29-1/30: Two-Hour Early Dismissal (Schools Closed for Evening Pre-K and ECI)
• 1/31: No School (Workday for All Teachers)

February

• 2/6: Two-Hour Early Dismissal/Professional Development (Schools Closed for Evening Pre-K and ECI)
• 2/18: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/5: No School (Parent Teacher Conferences)
• 3/26: Two-Hour Early Dismissal/Professional Development (Schools Closed for Evening Pre-K and ECI)

April

• 4/8-4/9: Two-Hour Early Dismissal, No School For Evening Pre-K and ECI
• 4/18–4/22: No School (Easter/Spring Break)

May

• 5/20-5/21: No School (Spring Conferences for Pre-K, Kindergarten and ECI)
• 5/23: Last Day for Graduating Seniors
• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/4: Eid-al-Fitr (Schools and Central Offices Open)
• 6/12: Last Day for Half-Day Pre-K and ECI Students
• 6/13- 6/14: Two-Hour Early Dismissal (All Students)
• 6/14: Last Day For Students
• 6/17 Last Day For Teachers
