ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis teen has made the 23-player roster for the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team that will compete for its 13th-straight medal at the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women’s World Championship Dec. 26-Jan. 2 in Bratislava, Slovakia.

"We are looking forward to this year's World Championships in Slovakia,” said Maura Crowell, head coach of the 2019-20 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team. “After a thorough evaluation process over the last several months, we have assembled a deep and experienced group of players from across the country. We feel confident in this group as we strive to bring gold back to the United States."

The roster features 10 players who helped the U.S. earn silver at last year’s IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship in Obihiro, Japan, including three-time U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team members Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park), Maggie Nicholson (Elk River, Minn.) and Makenna Webster (St. Louis, Mo.). In addition, Lacey Eden (Annapolis, Md.), Caroline Harvey (Pelham, N.H.), Clara Van Wieren (Okemos, Mich.), Skylar Vetter (Lakeville, Minn.), Audrey Wethington (Edina, Minn.), Haley Winn (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kiara Zanon (Fairport, N.Y.) return to the team for the second-straight season. Nineteen players also participated in the 2019 Under-18 Series vs. Canada this past August in Lake Placid, New York.
