Anne Arundel Animal Shelters To Reopen By Appointment Only
SPCA of Anne Arundel County and Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control​ have made plans to reopen by appointment only.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — SPCA of Anne Arundel County and Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control have made plans to reopen by appointment only in accordance with new regulations from the state of Maryland and the county.
Animal viewings and adoptions at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County are available by appointment only. Adoptables can be seen at AACSPCA.org and an adoption application can be downloaded from the site and emailed or faxed to the shelter. Once an application has been processed, someone with the shelter will reach out to potential adopters to schedule an appointment.
To schedule an appointment for animal surrender, cremation or euthanasia, call 410-268-4388 ext 141. Currently, the shelter can only accept donations of new or unopened pet food and supplies. Donations should be dropped off at a designated area outside of the shelter building.

Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control will open with normal operating hours starting Saturday. The shelter is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be provided by appointment only and the number of people in the building will be limited. Before someone enters the building, his or her temperature will be taken and the individual must wear a mask.

- Shelter tours
- Community education programs
- Accepting donations other than canned cat and dog food, dry cat food, litter, leashes, collars or cat carriers
- Visits to the shelter to look at the animals without the intent of adopting or reclaiming
- Microchip clinics
