UPDATED: Navy Sweeps Army in Rivalry Game Saturday
Midshipmen left for their trek to PA early Saturday morning.
For the 12th time in a row, the Navy midshipmen sunk the Army in a 34-7 victory Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Kickoff for the rivalry match between the Army and Navy football teams was 3 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.Â
Players each wore striking uniforms designed by Nike that carry a bit of their academy's history and culture
Continuing a ceremony before the match, midshipmen of the 13th Company gathered at noon Friday for a motivational kickoff to begin the 135 mile trek from Bancroft Hall to Philadelphia in the 31st running of the Army-Navy game ball, according to a press release.Â
The first relay team of Midshipmen was be joined by the Naval Academy’s Commandant and Naval Academy 13th Company alumni as they take their route on foot to Philadelphia.  Â
Midshipmen took off just before 8 a.m. up I-97 for the big game.
