Baltimore Cocaine Dealer Gets 24 Years In Prison

An Anne Arundel judge sentenced a Baltimore man to 24 years on Tuesday after he sold cocaine to an undercover cop, says state's attorney.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Baltimore man was sentenced Tuesday to 24 years in prison for selling cocaine to an undercover officer with the Annapolis Police Department, said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams. Donte Rocarter Mitchell, 39, sold the cocaine to the detective on three occasions in June 2017, according to a statement from the state's attorney's office.

"Mr. Mitchell has a criminal history fraught with drug dealing," Adams said in the statement. "This was a great effort by law enforcement to proactively combat the sale of illegal substances in our community and hold this dealer accountable."

Judge Pamela North handed down the sentence after an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court jury on June 15 found Mitchell guilty of three counts of distribution of cocaine, three counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and three counts of possession of cocaine.
