Catonsville Driver With Gun Arrested In Severna Park: Police

A Severna Park traffic stop led to the arrest of a Catonsville man, police said. Officers noted that he had a loaded gun and drugs.

SEVERNA PARK, MD — Police said they arrested a Catonsville driver Thursday in Severna Park. Officers explained that he had a loaded gun and drugs in the car.

A press release noted that police stopped a black Dodge Charger near Ritchie Highway and Whites Road around 8:40 p.m. The officer reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle. Authorities added that they searched the car and found:

  • A loaded Taurus 9 mm handgun
  • A small bag containing a mixture of 25 assorted suspected Clonazepam, Alprazolam and Carisoprodol pills

The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the arrestee as 30-year-old Carl Barton Spinks.
