Container Store Opens Saturday, Creates 40 Jobs At Annapolis Mall

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Container store will open a new location at the Westfield Annapolis mall on Saturday. This site created 40 new jobs in Anne Arundel County. The storage solutions retailer will have giveaways, local decorations and charitable donations at its grand opening ceremony.

One customer will win an Elfa Custom Closet Makeover on Saturday, and another will take home the same prize on Sunday. A $1,000 gift card, Elfa installation and five hours of in-home organizing services are also up for grabs. Shoppers can enter the sweepstakes in the store or at this link.

The Container Store will celebrate Annapolis' "maritime roots and historical charm" with a pop-up, experiential display. The exhibit will stay open for a month, and it too will have giveaways on opening weekend.

The business partnered with the Anne Arundel County Public Library to create a "baby pantry." The Container Store funded and designed this area, which will supply infant and feminine care products. The resources will be available at the ‘Discoveries: The Library at the Mall’ branch. The store also donated a pantry organization project to The Light House, a homeless shelter in Annapolis.

The 20,000-square-foot space is located at 2002 Annapolis Mall. It sits on the north side of Westfield Annapolis, just south of Bestgate Road.

Patrons can enter the store through the mall or the parking lot. Curbside pickup will also be an option.

The Container Store sells more than 11,000 products. The company teamed with Annapolis-area influencers to promote its top items in their home projects.

This will be the retailer's second location in Maryland. Its only other site is in Rockville.

The store will have acrylic barriers between cashiers and customers. Hand sanitizer will be also available. A full list of coronavirus protocols is posted here.
