Coronavirus Prompts U.S. Army Field Band To Offer Live Concerts
The U.S. Army Field Band will perform live on its YouTube Channel daily as a way to entertain people holed up at home due to the coronavirus
FORT MEADE, MD — In the hope of helping people pass the time while staying at home during the new coronavirus pandemic, the United States Army Field Band will perform live on their YouTube Channel. The entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 1 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
Concerts will include performances by the Concert Band, Soldiers' Chorus, Jazz Ambassadors, Six-String Soldiers, many more of the group's smaller ensembles, and will include interactive round-table discussions such as E-Sports, music instruction and other related subjects.
“The talents of our team of soldiers are unparalleled and the American people deserve and frankly, need, to hear this message of unity now more than ever,” said Colonel Jim Keene, Commander, The U.S. Army Field Band, in a statement. “We remain committed to accomplishing our mission, inspiring people, and increasing morale on behalf of the Army and are fortunate to have a platform that will allows us to readily reach so many people.”
