Fire Damages Severna Park Home: Officials

SEVERNA PARK, MD — Officials said fire rolled through a Severna Park home on June 22. Leaders did not list any injuries or displaced residents.

Authorities noted that they don't know if the two-story, single-family house had functioning smoke detectors. They also did not estimate the value of the property loss. Investigators added that they are still searching for the cause and the area of origin.

A neighbor reported the blaze in the 200 block of Saint Andrews Road around 7:13 a.m., a press release explained. Crews wrote that they found smoke coming from the windows and the garage. The write-up stated that first responders also spotted flames in the:

• Basement utility room
• Upper floors
• Attic
• Void spaces

The report informed that a team of 45 controlled the fire in about 45 minutes. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department indicated that the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Fire & Rescue Department assisted its response.
