Flood Warning Extended In Anne Arundel, Prince George's
Parts of Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties are under a flood warning until Friday morning. Here's how much rain you can expect.
MARYLAND — The National Weather Service has extended a flood warning issued Thursday afternoon for parts of Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties. About 9:30 p.m., the warning was extended to 4 a.m. Friday.
Meteorologists estimate a total of 2 to 3 inches of rain have fallen in the warned areas. Another half-inch of rain is possible in the flood warning area.
The alert went into effect at 3:52 p.m. and was originally supposed to lapse at 10 p.m. Thursday.

At 9:37 p.m. a stream gauge along the Western Branch in Upper Marlboro indicated water levels continued to rise after rains from earlier thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area, according to the National Weather Service.
Some locations that may experience flooding include Bowie, Upper Marlboro and Kettering.

"A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring," weather officials said in an announcement. "All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."

- Woodmore
- Morningside
- Prince George's Stadium
