The Greene Turtle To Host 13th Annual Tips For Tots

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Greene Turtle will launch its 13th annual “Tips for Tots” initiative on Dec. 12 to support Toys for Tots, the nationwide charity program to provide toys to underprivileged children during the holidays.

Employees at 44 participating locations of the Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille will donate 100 percent of the tips they earn on Wednesday, Dec. 12, to Toys for Tots, the company said in a release. The funds will support toy drives in communities in Maryland, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Last year, the Greene Turtle raised $88,126, bringing the total raised over the past 12 years to $421,830, the company said.

The Greene Turtle Franchising Corp. will donate $500 to each participating location that earns $1,000 in tips, according to the release. Employees at each of the sports bars will use the funds to buy toys to donate to Toys for Tots.

“We invite everyone to come out and dine with us on December 12 to join the Greene Turtle family in making an even greater impact on the community and help those in need during the holiday season," said Bob Barry, the Greene Turtle's CEO, in the release.

The Green Turtle has five locations in Anne Arundel County:

• Annapolis, 177 Jennifer Road
• BWI Airport, 1000 Friendship St., Terminal D, Glen Burnie
• Gambrills, 2383 Brandermill Blvd.
• Hanover at Arundel Mills, 7556 Teague Road
• Pasadena, 20 Magothy Beach Road

Each location except BWI Airport is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays. The BWI location is open from 4 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. every day.
