How Will Annapolis Benefit From O'Malley's Latest Capital Budget?

Of the 32 local projects being funded in the capital budget, seven are in the Annapolis area.

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley unveiled his capital budget for 2014-2015 on Wednesday, and it includes a slew of new construction projects across Anne Arundel County—and several in Annapolis.

Of the 32 local projects being funded in the capital budget, seven are in the Annapolis area. The list of most expensive projects in Annapolis is topped  by a $6.7 million water treatment plant facility replacement, followed by improvements at area schools, a library and Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Annapolis-area projects being funded include:

  • Annapolis Water Treatment Plant Replacement—$6.7 million
  • YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County—$1 million
  • Annapolis High School Athletic Facilities—$700,000
  • AAMC Cardiac Catheterization Lab Renovation—$500,000
  • Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts—$500,000
  • National Sailing Hall of Fame—$250,000
  • New Annapolis Regional Library—$250,000
