Kathleen "Kathy" Augusta McPartland, 74, of Annapolis: Obituary

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Kathleen "Kathy" Augusta McPartland, 74, of Annapolis MD, passed away in her home with her family by her side on Thursday, August 4, 2016.

Kathy was born on February 11, 1942 in Buffalo, NY to the late Andrew and Eleanor Benz. After graduating from Mt. St. Joseph Academy, she went on to receive her bachelor's degree from D'Youville College and a master's degree from the University of Maryland.

Kathy was a U.S. History teacher at Eleanor Roosevelt High School for 20 years. She loved cruising and traveling, especially to Paris, France and New York City. Kathy was an avid reader who shared her love of books with her children and grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 52 years, John “Jack” McPartland; her son John Jr., his wife Loreta and their three children Caitlin, Joseph and Elizabeth of Roswell, GA; son Andrew of Annapolis; daughter Amy and her husband Paul Collins of Gambrills, MD, and her sister Suzanne Behr of Fredonia, NY.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 15 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis.
