Man Charged with Pistol-Whipping, Robbing Taxi Driver

Annapolis police are investigating a similar attempted robbery of a cab driver.

An Annapolis man was arrested Wednesday on multiple charges after police said he struck a taxi driver in the face with a gun and robbed him.

Demarrow Williams, 20, was charged with 10 counts including armed robbery, robbery, and first- and second-degree assault.

Annapolis police dispatched officers to the 900 block of President Street at about 2:20 a.m. on Nov. 8 for a reported armed robbery.

The cab driver told police he picked up Williams on Hammond Place and drove him to President Street, where he was pistol-whipped and robbed of his money and cellphone before Williams fled.
