Martha Anne Kempton Conner, 70, of Annapolis, died surrounded by many family and friends on March 4, 2016. Martha was born on July 16, 1945, to John Magnuson and Audrey Celeste Arnold Kempton in Miles City, MT, and was a graduating member of the class of 1963 from Annapolis High School.

Martha is preceded in death by her father, her mother and her brother, Arnold Kempton.

Martha was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bowie for many years, where she loved working in the Awana Children’s Ministry and singing in the choir. She worked for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, where she just celebrated 20 years.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bernard Conner. She is also survived by her children, Lisa Durosky (and Mark McDanel) of Butte, MT; Jessica and Jay Christie and Alexis Forrester of Arnold; Allison Conner (and Shawn Taylor) of Glen Burnie; and “daughter” Deleah Howe of Annapolis. Also surviving are siblings Sandi and Eddie Shomack of Crownsville and Sam and Joe Hermann of Paw Paw, WV.

The family will receive visitors at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Ave. in Annapolis, on Thursday, March 10, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 14 at 6 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 7210 Race Track Road in Bowie, followed by a gathering in the church hall with light refreshments.
