ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — More snow is heading toward Anne Arundel County. Forecasters expect the storm to arrive Wednesday evening and linger until midday Friday.

The National Weather Service predicts that this will be a slow-moving front. It could hang around for 36 to 42 hours.

The snow will probably fall on the front end. The backside should bring more slush. Altogether, meteorologists are calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow in Anne Arundel County.

"Confidence is high this will be a significant winter [precipitation] and long duration event," the NWS said online. "This will likely be the largest snow event this season so far."

Weather officials said high-pressure Arctic air is causing this system. That front will stick around for a while, offering a chance for a wintry mix on Saturday and Sunday.

There's another potential for snow in the middle of next week, the forecast suggests. It's still too soon to give any specifics or estimate how likely this is.
