MDOT Closes US 50 Ramp To Northbound MD 2

The construction will be for one week during night time hours to mill, grind, and pave the road for a more pleasant journey for motorists.

From MDOT: On Monday night, July 10, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close and detour the westbound US 50 (John Hanson Highway) ramp to northbound MD 2 (Governor Ritchie Highway). The work will continue each night for approximately one week between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, Ardent Company, LLC of McLean, VA, will grind, mill and pave the ramp to improve ride quality. Motorists will be directed to southbound MD 450 (Governor Ritchie Highway/exit 27B) south toward the US Naval Academy. At the flashing light, motorists will turn right onto northbound MD 2.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver should actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
