Introduction

"Raleigh’s love for education began when he realized that without a good education, his quality of life would be very slim. He grew up from humble beginnings in Cherry Hill in South Baltimore.

"His journey in education afforded him extensive experience in Special Education. He advocates and fights for children and juveniles who are at a disadvantage as a result of their special needs. He has a track record of teaching children of all ages."

About Turnage

"Raleigh has been a resident in Anne Arundel County for 45 years and is a major contributor to causes near and dear to his heart such as social justice and human rights. He is married and the father of one daughter and two sons – and the grandfather of one granddaughter and three grandsons."

Community Involvement

"I am very involved in the community and have become a role to many children throughout Anne Arundel county. I have volunteered at various schools in the areas as well. I have been a mentor to many who only have one parent in the household. Not only have I been a mentor and role model, but I have also served on many boards and committees. I believe in getting involved and serving in my community…Raleigh Turnage, Jr. is always trying to make a difference in a young person’s life."
