Middle Schooler Pays It Forward At SPCA Of Anne Arundel Co.
An eighth grader tasked with "paying it forward" chose the SPCA of Anne Arundel County and donated items for the animals, then read to them.
SEVERNA PARK, MD — Animals lovers flock to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to help out, but one particular volunteer has wowed the staff at the shelter. Zahria Grace, an eighth grader at Severn School in Severna Park, was given a gift card through her school and was told to use it to "pay it forward."
Zahria Grace decided to use the gift card to purchase a variety of items that the shelter's adoptables would need in order to stay happy and healthy. But not only did Zahria Grace go shopping and deliver those items to the shelter, she also stayed and donated her time to the animals.
"Time she could spend studying or hanging with friends - and came to hang out and read to our shelter animals during Bedtime Book Buddies. Her kindness knows no bounds. We all want to be like Zahria when we grow up. Thank you, Zahria, for your kindness and generosity," the shelter posted on its Facebook page.
