ANNAPOLIS, MD — Most Anne Arundel County Public Libraries now offer contactless pickup as a coronavirus safety precaution. The new service allows library users to reserve books online and pick them up on site without entering the building.

Readers find the book they want to reserve on the library's catalog, select the location they want to pick it up and enter their login information. Library workers will pull the desired materials from the shelves and notify users with a text or email when it is ready.

When notified, patrons head to their branch to pick up the reservations. They must bring their library card with them.

Upon arrival, renters should text the number listed on that location's curbside pickup sign or call the library. Employees will place the checked-out materials on a table near the parking lot. The library asks that everybody waits in their cars until workers are at least 6 feet away from the table to safely retrieve their books.

Broadneck Library, Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library and Riviera Beach Library do not currently offer curbside pickup. Broadneck Library is currently under renovation. Pasadena residents can pick up materials at the Riviera Beach Library's temporary location, 8485A Fort Smallwood Road, starting on June 29.
