Most Romantic Fall Getaways: Annapolis Makes List

Annapolis is one of the must-visit destinations in a Redbook magazine list of romantic fall getaways.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — From Caribbean resorts to California wine country, or old world charm in Quebec and New England's colorful scenery, fall can be a great time to plan a romantic getaway. The folks at Redbook magazine just published their list of 60 international destinations, and Annapolis is one of the must-visit destinations on their list.

"If you feel like you and your partner are in desperate need of alone time, you're probably right! And nothing's more romantic than a weekend away with your love — especially when we've picked the coziest B&B's, restaurants, and activities for you to enjoy together," the authors said. "Choose a destination, pack your bag, and reignite your relationship. We won't blame you if you never want to come home."

It's become almost routine for travel sites and magazines to rave about the capital city's picturesque waterfront, historic Naval Academy, and historic architecture. The Redbook article is no different.

"The city boasts some of the most beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay and unbeatable seafood year-round. Visit Cantler's Riverside Inn for freshly steamed crabs, smothered in Maryland's best Old Bay, or take a stroll along City Dock for some shopping and an afternoon sailing. Stay at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, which offers water views and a romance package for couples looking for a little extra TLC on their weekend getaway."
