Pantelides Names First Cabinet Appointments
The city's new mayor has named a new city attorney, but will retain the existing public information officer.

The day before Mayor-elect Mike Pantelides was set to take office, he made his first two appointments to his cabinet.
Rhonda Wardlaw will continue serving as the City of Annapolis' public information officer, and Timothy Murnane will replace Karen Hardwick as the City Attorney.
“Tim’s work with local, national and international companies will serve this City well,” Pantelides said. “I am impressed with his depth and knowledge of the law and am glad to have him on the team.”
Murnane, a trial attorney with more than 30 years experience, has a history with Pantelides. He aided the mayor-elect during his campaign, including serving as his legal representative during the final days of the tight election.
When the final votes were being counted, Murnane and Hardwick often squared off as the details of the process were scrutinized.
Wardlaw, who has 25 years experience in television as a meteorologist, host and reporter, was hired on as the city's information officer during former mayor Ellen Moyer's term, and was rehired for that role a year into Cohen's term.
“Rhonda is passionate about her work, has a solid work ethic and understands what it takes to get the job done,” Pantelides said. “She will be a great addition to this administration.”
Pantelides is set to be inaugurated into office Monday afternoon.
