Park Planners Need Input For Anne Arundel's Future
Anne Arundel County is planning the future of its parks. Developers asked residents how they can improve these public facilities.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Anne Arundel County is planning the future of its parks. Strategizers want to know how they can improve their current facilities. Planners are also wondering whether they should add more parks around the county.
Anne Arundel County Council members will host town halls to hear residents' thoughts. The listening sessions start Thursday, June 10 and last until Thursday, July 15. Locals can sign up for their representative's webinar at this link.

- "Locations, extent and recreational opportunities available at park and recreation facilities;
- Rates of park use and public participation in various types of recreation;
- Need for more parks and recreation facilities;
- Proximity of parks and recreation facilities to where people live; and,
- Accomplishments of the County to preserve agricultural and resource land."
"Public parks and recreation facilities, and lands preserved for their agricultural and natural resource values provide Anne Arundel County residents and visitors with a wide array of services that benefit their health, the economy, and the environment," the county said on its website. "These places and amenities are vital pieces of community infrastructure."
Officials are in the second of eight phases of developing their future park strategy, called the 2022 Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan. The full timeline is available below.
