Performance Venues Reopen In Annapolis, Announce Summertime Shows
Live performances are back. From Rams Head On Stage to Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, shows are planned all summer long.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Live music and theatrical performances have returned to downtown Annapolis. From backroom jazz concerts to exciting musicals, the city has plenty of shows scheduled this summer.
Patch partners with several local organizations to bring you their latest news. This guest contribution comes from the Annapolis Arts District. Here's what Executive Director Erik Evans wrote about summertime performances:
"For centuries[,] Annapolis has been a hub for the arts. Its performing arts venues are one of the many reasons that people choose to live [in] and visit Annapolis, Maryland. While the past year has been difficult for the organizations and businesses that own these venues, most have survived and are planning on how to best entertain you this summer.

With COVID restrictions ending[,] most of the live music concerts and the performing arts venues in Annapolis have reopened or will reopen within a few weeks.
"This is good news for local musicians, performers, and entertainers that have been out of work. It is also good for the public that is ready to get out of their homes and enjoy the diverse arts and culture that Annapolis has to offer," says Erik Evans, Executive Director of several downtown Annapolis business organizations.

Here is the status of many of the arts and entertainment venues in Annapolis.
Maryland Hall has started its performance season outdoors this spring and summer with a front porch concert series which continues on June 23 and July 21 and 30 and has two indoor concerts (Anne Wilson and Tower of Power) scheduled for August 15 and 17.
49 West Coffeehouse which is known for its intimate back room concerts has recently restarted performances, and in the coming weeks, you can see performances by Skribe, Unified Jazz Ensemble, and The Geckos in the backroom.
The Classic Theatre of Maryland (formally Annapolis Shakespeare Company) has recently reopened with a full slate of performances including cabarets, jazz nights, and theatre productions.
The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre has tickets going on sale on July 2nd for its August reopening musical[,] Home Again.
Colonial Players of Annapolis has reopened and its next show Love, Loss and What I Wore opens July 9th.
Rams Head On Stage was one of the area's first indoor venues to reopen and now has concerts several nights a week with new shows being added weekly.
Stage One at MC3 is an outdoor venue that has a new summer music concert series that runs all summer. Their next outdoor event is called Lost and Found on June 26th.
First Sunday Art Festivals brings back live music at their events starting on July 4th as the event expands back to its full size.
Dinner Under the Stars has two evenings (Wednesdays and Saturdays) of live music outdoors every week through mid-September. On Saturday, July 3rd they are hosting an all-day event of live music and dining that will start soon after the Independence Day parade ends on West Street.
City Dock Concert Series returns in July with several months of free public concerts from the Art in Public Places Commission.
Annapolis Maritime Museum has ten concerts planned throughout the summer with the next concert on June 24th[.]
Some of the downtown Annapolis area restaurants that have also brought back live music including Blackwall Hitch, Bread and Butter Kitchen, Buddy's Crabs & Ribs, Galway Bay, Middleton Tavern, Stan and Joe's Saloon, Reynolds Tavern, and the Trophy Room. The restaurants on Market Space also host music in their outdoor dining areas.
Restaurants bring many opportunities to enjoy live music paired with a drink or dinner and add to the nightlife in Annapolis. If your local restaurant has a history of live music[,] there is a good chance that music has returned or will be returning soon.
With theatres, concert halls, outdoor stages, festivals, and events all reopening in Annapolis[,] it is the perfect place to join your neighbors to be entertained this summer.
