Police Arrive at Main Street Knife Fight to Find Man Stabbed

Police arrived at the end of a knife fight near Main Street to find one man stabbed, according to a report.

Larry Lee Mason, 33, of Annapolis, was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of carrying a weapon with intent to injure.

An officer was on the way to the reported fight at 139 Main Street when she saw two men approaching her vehicle—Mason and a 30-year-old, who had been stabbed.  An officer noticed the victim had lacerations on his chest and torso, and asked the two men what happened.

At that point the officer heard something metal hit the ground underneath her car, and both men fled, according to the police report. Both were later apprehended in the area of East Street. Later at the scene, the officer recovered a box cutter-style knife and a set of brass knuckles, according to the report.

The victim was transported to the University of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, and was listed in critical condition as of Monday morning, police said.

Mason remains at the Jennifer Road Detention Center with no bond set, according to police.
