Police: Driver Smelled Marijuana on School Bus
An Annapolis High School student was charged with intent to distribute drugs on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Anne Arundel County police said a student was found with marijuana on a school bus in the parking lot of Annapolis High School on Wednesday.Â
Luis Enrique Mireles-Ruiz, 18, of Annapolis was charged as an adult and arrested on multiple charges, including intent to distribute drugs on school property and dangerous weapon possession for having a pocket knife.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at about 2:15 p.m. when a school bus driver noticed a strong odor of suspected marijuana coming from the rear of the bus, police said.Â

The driver walked to the back of the bus and found Mireles-Ruiz holding a prescription-style bottle containing suspected marijuana, according to a police press release.
The driver reportedly confiscated the bottle and contacted a school administrator and the school resource officer. Police said the bottle contained four individually packaged baggies with markings consistent with the distribution of the drugs.

Police said Mireles-Ruiz, who was also found to have a pocket knife and $273 in cash, was removed from the bus without incident.Â
Mireles-Ruiz was arrested on the following charges: possession of marijuana less than 10 grams, drug possession of marijuana with intent to distribute on school property, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.
