Police Recover Drugs, Stolen Handgun Near Bay Bridge

A Baltimore woman is facing drug possession, other charges after MDTA police pulled her over Saturday near the Bay Bridge.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Baltimore woman got into serious trouble on Saturday when she was pulled over for speeding near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police. Officers arrested Andresha Jackson, 21, for possession of drugs and a stolen handgun.

The MDTA Police patrol BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, a number of state highways and the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial (Bay) Bridge. After one officer stopped Jackson on Saturday, others searched her 2006 Hyundai and found a loaded handgun, marijuana and MDMA (ecstasy), the police said.

They charged her with possession of a stolen handgun, illegally transporting a handgun in a vehicle and possession of controlled dangerous substances.

After processing, the officers took her to the Anne Arundel County District Court Commissioner.
