Police: Group of 10 Robbers Descends on Annapolis Gas Station

A gas station on Forest Drive was robbed by 10 people at once on Thursday, and one of them threatened employees with violence, police said.

Annapolis police charged Colando Colbert, 18, with armed robbery, false imprisonment and other related crimes.
  
Colbert and nine others entered the 24/7 Fuel Mart in the 1200 block of Forest Drive and began taking candy boxes and other items from the store, according to a police report. 

During the robbery, Colbert wore a white surgical mask, but employees recognized him as someone who had visited the station earlier in the day, police said.

When the employees confronted Colbert, he verbally threatened them and "tapped his jacket pocket, insinuating he had a weapon," police said.

Between 10 to 12 boxes of candy, 5 or 6 boxes of Slim Jims and an unknown number of cigars and cigarillos, were taken from the business, totaling $800 to $1,000 in stolen items.

Officers later located Colbert at his home and recovered several KitKat candy bars from his jacket. Police then brought Colbert back to the gas station to positively identify him with the witnesses.

Video surveillance of the incident has been recovered and is being reviewed by police.

Colbert is currently being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $6,500 bond.
