Trump's Support In Prince George's Up From 2016: Early Count
Was Trump more popular in Prince George's County in 2016 or 2020? See the vote totals here.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Despite his projected loss in Maryland, President Donald Trump gained a bit of support in the state. In 2016, 33.9 percent of the Marylanders voted for Trump. This time around, preliminary results suggest that he carries 35.6 percent of the vote.

Maryland has long been a blue state. It has voted for every Democratic presidential nominee since 1988. George H.W. Bush (R) claimed the state that year on the way to his only term as president.

Of Maryland's 4,109,762 registered active voters, 55.1 percent are Democrats. A quarter are registered Republicans.
Prince George's County is even more liberal. The Democratic Party claims 78.3 percent of the county's 606,439 registered active voters. About 6.6 percent are Republicans.

The Prince George's GOP may have gained some ground in this election. Unofficial vote counts imply that Trump added some support in the county in 2020.
Trump won 8.5 percent of the Prince George's County vote in 2016. Early counts show that he holds 9.1 percent of the vote this year.
The polls closed Tuesday, and Maryland is still counting mail-in ballots. Though the results are not final, it looks like the Old Line State still prefers Democrats.
The Associated Press already projected that former Vice President Joe Biden (D) will win Maryland's 10 Electoral College votes. The publication also predicted re-election victories for all eight of Maryland's representatives in the U.S. House.
These are not official declarations, since the Maryland State Board of Elections has not yet counted all the ballots. These are merely projections from an unbiased source that is 99.8 percent accurate in its election predictions.
Marylanders can follow the preliminary vote counts for every race at this link, which will be updated each day at 4:30 p.m. The Board of Elections will only announce winners after it counts every vote.
The presidential race also continues nationally. Several battleground states are still tallying their mail-in ballots, meaning the election could swing either way.
