ANNAPOIS, MD — Ego Alley is for boats. Right?

Wrong. Motorsports star Travis Pastrana will jump over the Annapolis waterway in a rally car this Thursday, The Baltimore Sun Reports.

As a former NASCAR driver and frequent X Games competitor, the 37-year-old Annapolis native is no newbie to nerve-racking stunts. He jumped over the Caesar's Palace fountain on a dirt bike in 2018, skydived without a parachute in 2007, and leaped over 269 feet of water in 2009.

City Dock, Newman Street, Compromise Street and Dock Street will see road closures and parking restrictions between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. This area will be closed to the public.

School Street, Church Circle and West Street will have shutdowns between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., disrupting parking. During this time, Taylor Avenue and Poplar Avenue will also be closed behind the Graduate Annapolis hotel, but parking will not be affected.

The city says each road closure will last a few minutes, but shutdowns will be interspersed throughout the listed timeframes. Annapolis will post "No Parking" signs 48 hours before the event. Vehicles left in place will be towed at the owner's expense.

Residents of the affected areas will be able to park in Hillman or Gotts Garage for free. Parking validations are available for pickup at the SP+ office located at 60 West Street, Suite 106.

The office is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Proof of residency is required. Anybody with questions can call (443) 648-3087.

Film crews will be on the ground and in the air throughout the day. The production company has all the necessary permits, and the aerial filming is legal. The best way to avoid being filmed is to stay away from the areas noted above.

Annapolis officials warn locals that the stunt will involve scattered moments of loud noises. The precision driving will not put Pastrana nor Annapolis' infrastructure at risk, the city says.

The Annapolis Police Department will be on hand throughout the day. Officers may turn away spectators hoping to catch a glimpse of the event.

The city says tax dollars are not paying for the stunt. Officials claim the videographers are reimbursing Annapolis for all the associated public safety costs.
