A teen told Annapolis police he was injured on Friday night and then admitted he'd shot himself in the leg while trying to remove a handgun from his waistband.
The 15-year-old from Baltimore approached officers in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to a report from the Annapolis Police Department.
The boy told police the shooting was accidental and he was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police said the gun has not been recovered.
