UPDATE: 19-Year-Old Laurel Man Charged With Fatally Shooting Teen Girl
Police have determined the suspect and victim did know each other prior to the shooting.

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man from Laurel and charged him with homicide for allegedly shooting and killing a 17-year-old girl in Annapolis.
On Monday, June 6 at noon, Annapolis police officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue.
Once inside the home, officers located 17-year-old Kymici Brown, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center, but later died.

Ryan Surgeon, 19, of Laurel, was inside the home when officers arrived. He was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as other lesser charges.
Police said Surgeon and Brown knew each other before the shooting.

Surgeon is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $1.5-million bond.
