Wegmans, Harris Teeter, Costco: New Year’s MD Grocery Store Hours

MARYLAND — While experts at the CDC urge Marylanders to stay home for the New Year’s holiday, folks might still go the extra mile this year to kick 2020 to the curb and ring in what we all hope will be a better year to come.

If you need to pick up a key New Year's Eve drink or dining staple for your small gathering, check our list. A few Maryland grocery stores will close early on Dec. 31, and many will be open on Jan. 1 for any last-minute shopping trips for food or hand sanitizer.

As always, it's best to call ahead to check your local store's hours before heading out.

Here are the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day hours for the grocery stores in our town:

Albertson’s: Most locations are open New Year’s Day. Call ahead to confirm hours.

ALDI: Most locations will operate on reduced hours Dec. 31 and will close New Year’s Day. Call ahead to confirm hours.

BJ’s Wholesale Club: Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 31, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Day.

Costco: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 31. Closed New Year’s Day.

CVS: Open regular hours New Year’s Day, but some stores may have reduced hours. Call ahead to confirm hours.

Food Lion: Most Food Lion stores are open New Year’s Day. Call ahead to confirm hours.

The Fresh Market: Stores will close at 10 p.m. Dec. 31 and reopen at 8 a.m. New Year’s Day. Pharmacies will be closed on New Year’s Day.

Giant Food: Most stores will close at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 and reopen at 6 a.m. New Year’s Day.

Harris Teeter: Locations are open regular hours Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day.

H-E-B: Stores are open regular hours New Year’s Day.

Lidl: Most stores are open regular hours on Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day, though some stores might observe reduced hours. Call ahead to confirm.

MOM’s My Organic Market: Stores are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 31, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. New Year’s Day.

Rite Aid: Most stores are open Dec. 31 and New Year’s Eve, though some stores may be operating on limited hours. Call ahead to confirm.

Safeway: Open regular hours New Year’s Day.

Sam’s Club: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 31. Closed New Year’s Day.

Save Mart: Most stores are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 31, and 6 a.m. to midnight New Year’s Day.

Sheetz: Stores and fuel locations are open normal hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Target: Open regular hours Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day.

Trader Joe’s: All stores will close at 6 p.m. Dec. 31 and remain closed on New Year’s Day.

Walgreens: Open New Year’s Day, though hours will vary by location. Call ahead to confirm hours.

Walmart: Open normal hours Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day.

Wawa: Most stores are open Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day, though reduced hours may apply in some locations. Call ahead to confirm hours.
