2 From Anne Arundel Arrested in 16-Person Burglary and Drug Ring

Four Baltimore area police departments collaborated with federal agencies to search 21 locations and arrest 16 suspects connected to a prescription drug and burglary ring.

Police from across the Baltimore area searched 21 locations and arrested 16 people suspected to be involved in a prescription drug ring and commercial burglary conspiracy, according a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.

The statement says two of the 16 arrested are from Anne Arundel County, and the other 14 are from Baltimore County and Baltimore City.

"We conducted a very large-scale operation today and due to the diligent work of all involved, this Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) has been dismantled," said Assistant Special Agent in Charge Gary Tuggle, of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Baltimore District Office.

Several of the suspects are being charged with conspiring to commit commercial burglaries and home invasions across Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, according to the release.

Authorities filed an indictment charging the following eight suspects with conspiring to distribute oxycodone, heroin, methadone, buprenorphine, cocaine and alprazolam since 2010:

  • David Paschall, 54, of Catonsville
  • Jackie Weatherley, 30, of Lansdowne
  • Chad Paschall, 28, of Baltimore
  • Michael Terry, 51, of Baltimore
  • Richard Ashbrook, 51, of Baltimore
  • Richard Braitsch, 38, of Baltimore
  • William Matheny, 44, of Lansdowne
  • Sidney Tawes, 24, of Dundalk
Authorities filed a second indictment, charging these six suspects with conspiring to commit bank larceny and "incidental" crimes, as well as interstate transportation of stolen goods from September 2011 to present day:

  • David Paschall (previously listed)
  • Chad Paschall (previously listed)
  • Mark Johnson, 51, Baltimore
  • Ronald Henderson, 51, of Pasadena
  • William Metcalf, 38, of Baltimore
  • Kenneth Smith, 51, of Millersville
Authorities also charged David Paschall, Mark Johnson and Ronald Henderson with illegally possessing a firearm as a felon.

The release says a third indictment was filed, charging these four suspects with conspiring to commit bank larceny and interstate transportation of stolen goods from September 2011 to present day:

  • Carl Parrish Paschall, Sr., 53, of Halethorpe
  • Carl Parrish Paschall, Jr., 31, of Baltimore
  • Chad Paschall (previously listed)
  • Michael Johnson, 25, of Baltimore
  • Thomas Ellis, 22, of Baltimore
The indictments also seek the forfeiture of more than $2 million, seven vehicles and four properties between Baltimore City and Catonsville.
