Pittman Appointed Acting Inspections and Permits Director

The following announcement was released by the Anne Arundel County Office of Public Information:

Acting County Executive John R. Hammond today named Jim Pittman as Acting Director of Inspections and Permits.

“Jim Pittman is an outstanding manager and brings experience to the Department of Inspections and Permits,” Acting County Executive Hammond said. “Our focus now becomes finding a permanent director to lead the department.”

Pittman comes from the Department of Public Works, where he served as Deputy Director for Waste Management Services. He previously served in an acting role as Director of Inspections and Permits in 2001.

Dan Kane, Director of the Permit Application Center, served the lead role in the department for the last six months, the maximum allowable time under the County Charter.

“I want to thank Dan Kane for serving as Acting Director of Inspections and Permits for the past six months,” Hammond said. “He has performed admirably and I greatly appreciate his willingness to do the job.”
