Annapolis' New Mayor Pantelides to be Inaugurated Monday

An inauguration ceremony is scheduled in Annapolis Monday at 3 p.m. for the city's newly elected mayor Mike Pantelides.

Pantelides beat incumbent Mayor Josh Cohen by just 59 votes in a close election earlier this month. Pantelides will be the first republican mayor the city has had in nearly a decade.

The ceremony is expected to draw top Republican officials from across the state. Pantelides victory over a Democratic incumbent has poised him as a rising star in the political party.

Pantelides' campaign was recently awarded the Conservative Campaign of the Year by the Maryland GOP.
