Celebrating Summer Solstice in Maryland

The longest day of the year is finally here. What will you do to celebrate?

The summer solstice is the one day each year with the longest amount of daylight, and it’s finally here.

You may want to take advantage of those extra sunny hours Wednesday with a trip to the beach, a backyard barbecue or one of these Maryland summer solstice celebrations.

Head to Fort Smallwood Park and have a picnic dinner along the water. Afterward your kids can play on the playground and you can all enjoy a relaxing evening outside. Just be sure to pack lots of water, it is going to be hot.
