Complaints About Linthicum Massage Parlor Yield 2 Arrests: Police

LINTHICUM, MD — Detectives with the Anne Arundel County Police Department on Tuesday arrested a Rosedale man and a woman from New York City on charges they were involved in prostitution activities connected with a Linthicum massage parlor, according to a police report.

The arrests by the department's Vice Unit came after it received complaints about "possible prostitution activity" at the Blue Moon Wellness Center, at 810 Nursery Road in Linthicum, the departnent said Wednesday in a press release.

The massage parlor is just north of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.

The detectives arrested Xiangdong Tang, 55, of Rosedale on two counts of prostitution. They also arrested Guifang Wu, 47, on charges of prostitution and practicing massage therapy without a license, according to the press release.

Guifang is listed by police as a resident of Flushing, N.Y., a neighborhood of New York's borough of Queens.

The arrests on Tuesday followed the arrests of two women on prostitution charges in April in the same area, the Capital Gazette reported Wednesday. The police had investigated the Oriental Wellness Center, a block away on Nursery Road.

Recently, the police have battled against alleged prostitution and human trafficking rings around BWI and the northern end of Anne Arundel County, according to the newspaper.
