Davis Named Acting Police Chief for Second Time in a Year
Maj. Pamela Davis is serving as police chief as Anne Arundel County looks into a long-term replacement.

Last July, Maj. Pamela Davis was taking on the role of acting police chief in Anne Arundel County, in the wake of former Police Chief James Teare Sr.'s retirement.
Less than a year later, she is back as acting chief, since Larry Tolliver announced he was retiring as the police head effective May 21.
Davis has taken over Tolliver's duties for the past two weeks, as he spent his last work days on vacation, reports The Capital-Gazette.
When she took the role last year, Davis was the first female police chief in the department's history, and she held the post for about three weeks until Tolliver was sworn in by then-County Executive John Leopold.
