Jessup Cell Fire Leaves None Injured
Fire officials say an unattended water heating pot caused the accidental jail cell fire.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal says a fire inside a jail cell at the Jessup House of Correction Wednesday was caused by an unattended water heating pot.
Shortly before 1 p.m., correctional officers noticed a fire in an empty cell, responding with a fire extinguisher. The sprinkler system and extinguisher stopped the fire after two minutes, according to the report.
The device that caused the fire was an approved item, and officials say the incident was an accident.
No one was injured in the fire, which caused an estimated $100 in damage.
