Maryland Legal Aid Receives $50K Grant From Anne Arundel County
Anne Arundel County has awarded Maryland Legal Aid a $50,000 grant. MLA assisted more than 120,000 people last year alone.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Maryland Legal Aid has received a $50,000 grant from Anne Arundel County to support its civil legal services provided to low income residents. The grant is among the largest awarded by Anne Arundel County to MLA.
“We are most grateful to County Executive Steuart Pittman and the Anne Arundel County government for recognizing the importance of civil legal aid and the impact that MLA’s work has on low-income residents in Anne Arundel County,” said MLA’s Executive Director Wilhelm H. Joseph, Jr. in a statement.
Last year alone, MLA assisted more than 120,000 people with such needs as family law, consumer law, housing and government benefits.
