Patch Picks: Halloween Parties and Haunted Houses

It’s Halloween night and the neighborhood kids have ravaged your candy supply. You could turn off the porch light and go to bed, but you have too much energy for that. Luckily, there are a number of activities in town to help you celebrate Halloween. Here are a few options:

Wicked Woods
Monsignor Slade Catholic School, 120 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie.
Open Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 7–29, ticket office open 7:30–11 p.m.
The Main Trail is recommended for ages 8 and up. Tickets are $10. The Wee Kid Maze is appropriate fun for ages 8 and under. Tickets are $4 and parents are free with paid child. For more information see www.wickedwoods.org.

Fright Fest at Six Flags America
Oct. 1-30. Mitchellville.

Seniors won't want to miss this annual Halloween bash at the Bowie Senior Center, featuring music by Mike Surratt, decorations, prizes and light refreshments. Please register at the front desk by Oct. 21. Tickets are $4.

The Haunt at Sunrise Farm
Sunrise Farm, 100 Dairy Lane, Gambrills.
Open Fridays and Saturdays in October, Night Fall to 11 p.m., Rain or Shine. A tour guide lead, mostly indoor haunted attraction with two haunted barns for patrons to explore and a haunted hayride.
The haunted barns are not recommended for children under the age of 8. They also recommend that parents accompany children under the age of 10. Tickets are $17. For more information see www.hauntedsunrise.com.
