Pets Rescued from Blazing Glen Burnie Home

Several pets were rescued from the blazing home and given oxygen on the scene.

A Glen Burnie family and their pets were displaced by a fire in their home on Tuesday afternoon, a fire official said.

The blaze caused an estimated $60,000 in damage to the home on 7th Avenue, which was not equipped with smoke alarms, Division Chief Keith Swindle said.

The fire took 30 firefighters less than 30 minutes to extinguish, during which several pets were rescued from the home.

"[Pets] were given oxygen on the scene and ultimately taken to a local animal hospital for further treatment," according to the release.

The cause of the house fire remains under investigation, but it is believed to have been accidental, Swindle said.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.
