Robbers Hit Crofton Bank, Hanover Starbucks: Police

Anne Arundel police searched the scenes of the robberies Saturday in Crofton and Hanover, but said they didn't find the robbers.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — Two robbers are at large after heists on Saturday at a Hanover coffee shop and a Crofton bank, according to the Anne Arundel County police. No injuries were reported in either robbery.

Shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the report of a robbery at the Starbucks in the 7600 block of Dorchester Boulevard in Hanover, the police said. An unidentified male had entered the store, flashed a knife and demanded money from the cash register.

The individual is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, and wearing a black jacket and jeans.

Before police arrived, he fled from the store towards Dorchester Boulevard. Officers searched the area but did not locate him.

Officers also responded Saturday to a holdup alarm at the Old Line Bank at 1641 Route 3 North in Crofton, according to a police report. An individual wearing dark clothing with his face covered had entered the bank and announced a robbery.

He showed bank employees a plastic bag, but did not show a weapon or imply that he had one, the police said.

The employees complied with his demand, and he fled the bank on foot, the police said. The robber is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall.

Officers searched the area with the assistance of a K9 unit (a police dog and handler), but did not locate the robber.
