UPDATE: Dwyer Pleading Guilty, Looking to Move On

Del. Don Dwyer addressed the trial starting Tuesday where he faces multiple charges, including operating a boat under the influence of alcohol.

State Del. Don Dwyer (R–Pasadena) said he "regrets" the boating incident that led to his arrest and the injury of several people on the Magothy River last August.

Dwyer, whose blood alcohol content was reported at three times the legal limit, has admitted to drinking before his boat crashed into another boat, injuring seven people–including two children.

Dwyer and his lawyer, David Fischer, told reporters Monday that the delegate plans to plead guilty in his trial that begins tomorrow, reports WJZ 13. He is also in an alcohol treatment program and does not plan to resign, according to the report.

On his Facebook page, Dwyer said he hopes to move on from the incident.

"I'm looking forward to getting the boat accident behind me. Thanks to all of my supporters," Dwyer wrote.
