When Does School Start in Anne Arundel County?
Some schools will open later due to construction.

No more teachers, no more books? Not for long.
Anne Arundel County's new school year starts Monday, Aug. 26, but not every student will have to go to school.
Most students in grades one through five, as well as six and nine, will have their first day on August 26. Some schools, listed below, will open starting on August 27 due to construction issues.
Conferences also start that day for half-day pre-Kindergarten and early childhood students.
The rest of the student body in first through twelfth grade will return on August 27.
Here are the schools that will be opening late and their schedules:
Annapolis High will welcome ninth graders on August 27, other students the next day
Central Middle will be open for sixth graders on August 27, then seventh and eighth graders on August 28.

Severn River Middle will also start for sixth graders on August 27, then the rest of its students the next day.
Southern Middle, like the two other middle schools affected, will welcome sixth graders on August 27 followed by the rest of the student body

All first through fifth graders at Crofton, Lothian, Mills-Parole and Point Pleasant elementary schools, and all students at Phoenix Academy will have the first day on August 27.
