Arbutus Man Charged With Burglary

Russell Lee Blizard, 33, charged after a Sept. 10 incident.

An Arbutus man faces burglary charges after a Sept. 10 incident on the 5400 block of Highridge Ave, according to police.

According to police, Russell Lee Blizard, 33, who is described as the boyfriend of the victim's mother, was told to leave the premises by the homeowner at around 10:30 a.m.

Blizard reportedly returned at around 12:30 p.m., damaged the window screen and blinds of a rear basement window, and took a bag of tobacco, a cigarette-making machine, money, a knife and keys, according to police.

A police officer who responded to the scene located Blizard and arrested him, according to officials. The tobacco and cigarette-making machine, which was damaged, were returned to the victim, police said.

Blizard was charged with first-degree burglary, police said.
